Couponers often reference things in conversation and others may not be aware of what they are.

Yes couponers like any other group have our own language. We say shortened words or different phrases that are only understood by us.

One of those words is "Catalina". A Catalina is a coupon printed out at the store after purchasing certain items or spending a certain amount. This coupon can be used on future purchases determined by the store.

A catalina can be given out by the manufacturer or the store itself. If it is given out by the manufacturer multiple stores may be issuing the coupon for the same amount or running similar promotions. If it given by the store than it is only going to be available their or by that chain.

Catalinas are to be used at the store or chain they are issued at, and can be combined with manufacturers coupons unless otherwise stated on the coupon or store policy.
